I have seen many people being ignorant and either try to get into political by comparing or degrading Burma as it is a country that is of no importance. Burma currently is facing with Cyclone Nargis and international aids can’t be sent to and/or even if did, all supplies are gathered by Military Junta stating it is tax deductible or relabeling their names.

I am not going to talk about this for a while because it appears some people wish to compare Burma and keep saying it is not worth helping or why US government doesn’t help during New Orleans disaster. I was not going to bring any of these up but since people keep comparing and calling all names they can to Burma, I have to. US government DID help everyone out in New Orlean, sure it got delayed to load up the team and such but people get saved and rebuilt was on way and it is reasonable time. It is just the disaster of the month thing, after that everyone will be peaceful. But in Burma, military doesn’t care and it has been 46 YEARS!

Military government lost election 46 years ago but few days later, killed, burned alive, and put under house arrest the winning party and ruling with iron fist for that many years! In US, you can go on the street with banners in hand and shout whatever you wish to say, in Burma, you do that you will either be burnt alive, jailed, hit to death, shot to death, whole family killed. Burmese have tried twice in 1988 and recently in 2007. Outcome you may ask? Death of thousands of monks, students, children and other civilians or put to death (burnt alive in cemeteries). Have you been in that situation? Have you face all of those? Have lost family members or relatives due to those tragedies? Have you seen blood everywhere? Have you had someone burnt alive? I have and I will never forget

It is not wise to compare Burma to what happened to US (which is only a month or so deals) while Burmese are suffering for 46 years! And you say Who cares about Burma? Why send aids to them? My answer to these questions is just Thank you. At least you are thinking something about Burma and not forgetting about it.
